A simple, Life-Changing Talk for People with "Multiple Passions"(not for normal people)
It's a shame people who have such wishes dismiss this approach...
šDonāt Get Good at the Wrong Thingā¦
Lately, many people I know are hustling at full-time roles, wanting to do many things- but they canāt. They want to read, experiment with cooking rather than rush it, and try going to a yoga class, but they canāt because of their work and many other commitments. Ultimately, everything gets onto a bucket list or a Wishlist. I donāt want to say this, but Iām genuinely worried they are misunderstanding their life as a guarantee. In a world where anything could happen, what if theyāre 65 by the time they start that Wishlist?Ā (Thereās a great book on this, which Iāll attach below)
Have you felt this before?
You want to be good at and enjoy several things, but youāre afraid thereās not enough time to balance or juggle them. Everyoneās getting stressed out by leisurely activities.Ā
All Conventional Wisdom is Crap!š
Granted, the first thing to ask yourself is what you want from life. I knew from day one that I was a dabbler. I never wanted to specialize or confine myself to one thing in a corporate role.
I believe weāre all free since the day we were born, but somewhere, we were told, āYou need to suck the marrow out of life and maximize every moment.ā Thatās not the point at all. We take on hundreds of commitments and then stand at mercy because we are left with no choice but to stay confined to one thing only, but itās not too lateā¦
š®āšØItās Okay to Live a Life Others Donāt Understandā¦
I knew what I wanted was a life most people donāt understand. It may be boring. I like to sip coffee every morning for one to two hours while reading a book daily because I enjoy it. I love the gym and basketball. I enjoy investing and building businesses.
So early on in my life, when I was 16, many years ago, I knew I was just in a job to use it as a tool for something bigger - Iād have to thank Warren Buffett because a documentary on him changed my view on life. I focused on improving my skills as an investor, didnāt take on commitments, and continued to enjoy daily activities like basketball.Ā
This is entirely different from what society says: hustle, choose one path, and much more. Yet, I found my breakthrough: I left my full-time job as a state manager, became a full-time investor, and found time to live differently.
This love for doing a few things, having multiple passions, and experiencing true freedom inspired me to work towards that dream every day when I was young. This deliberate choice allows me to invest in what truly mattersāliving authentically and pursuing diverse passions.
šļøTry This Test on Yourself, Friends, or Familyā¦
I would never trade my life for a billionaire or a millionaire.
I call this the ātrade-testā.
Would you trade lives with someone else? The day you say āheck noā - youāve found it. So far, almost anybody Iāve seen, I wouldnāt trade lives with them because itās not my version of success that I drew years back. Furthermore, they have optimized for the wrong thing because whenever I see them on chance, I hear complaints about their busy schedule, not having time because they need to drop their kids off, or business trips causing their relationships to fall off.
Some might say itās hard to succeed if you love multiple things, but I can assure you that it can be done if you commit to it. It will be very different from the traditional way of doing it, but you will have fun exploring various things!
āUnderstand this: The world wants to assign you a role in life. And once you accept that role you are doomed.ā ā Robert Greene
Here are some examples of people who had multiple interests (multi-potentialites):
Here are some insights from my journey:
1. šļøDefine Your Vision: Start by envisioning your ideal life. What activities bring you the most fulfillment? Could you take time to write down your goals and aspirations? This clarity will guide your decisions and help you prioritize. Figure out your āwhy.ā (There is also a great reading on this, which I would urge you to read, and Iāll attach it below)
2. ā³Prioritize Your Passions: Identify your core passions and integrate them into your routine. Allocate dedicated time each week for activities that bring you joy, whether reading, exercising, or pursuing creative hobbies.
3. āEmbrace Simplicity: Simplify your commitments and focus on what truly matters to you. Learn to say no to activities or obligations that don't align with your long-term goals or bring you genuine happiness. Focus on your passions, and donāt throw the towel in too quickly because it takes time. Youāre playing the long game!
4. š Manage Your Time Wisely: Implement time management techniques that work for you. Break tasks into smaller, manageable chunks, and use tools like calendars or apps to schedule your activities effectively.Ā
5. š»Cultivate a Supportive Environment: Surround yourself with people who encourage and support your multifaceted interests. Share your journey with like-minded individuals who understand the value of pursuing diverse passions. These people should ideally be curious. Some of the best Entrepreneurs in the world are curious people. Only when youāre curious will you stumble on something you might want to do.Ā
6. šŖTake Action Today and STOP guessing your āpurpose.ā Start small. Whether dedicating 30 minutes each morning to a passion project or committing to one new activity each week, every step counts toward building a fulfilling life. There is no real purpose to life; The purpose of life is whatever meaning you choose to give it, which comes from doing what you like! I recently started writing in Substack and am keeping to it because I love it. I found itās an excellent way to utilize my free time to offer value.
7. šDonāt copy someone. Emulate them: If you find someone whose life you feel suits your taste, talk to them, but donāt fall into the trap of trying to be exactly like them. Youāve got to find your rhythm and way of doing things. That was a good lesson that Basketball taught me some time back.Ā
8. š”What would you hate to do? : Charlie Munger always said āinvert.ā If you want to achieve something, ask how you could fail and avoid doing that. In this case, ask yourself what activities, if you did every day, would suck the living hell out of your daily performance.Ā
BONUS TIPS TO GET AHEAD STARTING TODAY
Essential Tip 1.
Start Investing to Gain Financial Freedom: Wealth is one of the pillars of a balanced life, alongside health, love, and happiness. Begin by investing, even with modest amounts. You don't need a six-figure salary to start. The Forbes list and the world's wealthiest are filled with investors who started small. By prioritizing wealth management early, you can free up time and resources to pursue your passions without financial stress. Being an investor was my most fantastic instrument to getting to my version of success, and today, itās a real passion because I was able to get good at it. Do watch the video below as I think itās a great first step to setting your goals.
As someone with various passions, itās great to optimize for the day, not the future. This means making money a little slower but working on your skills and passions every day. I highly encourage you to head to:

You can use this calculator to determine how much you need to invest every month to reach your X target and live the rest of your life.Ā That amount is not for luxury mindless spending but to support a life where you donāt have to work and can instead utilize your passions sooner rather than later.
Essential Tip 2:
Optimize and be Happy with the Cost: If you have multiple passions, ensure your combination gives you a good balance. Itās not just about money or being an Entrepreneur. Balanced Optimization is essential. I never really had a plan like this when I first found all my passions, but over time, I realized, through luck, that everything I loved covered the different areas one needs in life. And remember, everything has a cost. For me, the cost was not climbing the corporate ladder. Another cost was missing parties and functions. However, itās a price I was completely cool with.Ā
Essential Tip 3:
Realize you have a chance: If youāre stuck because you still have a full-time job, take a deep breath, pause, and be grateful you have this option of pursuing multiple passions someday. We humans have never always had this chance. There is a chance, at least!
The Bottom Line šÆ
Remember that having diverse passions may not follow the traditional path, but itās a path that leads to fulfillment. This lifestyle isnāt about luxury or constant hustle; itās about savoring each day by creating a life that resonates with who you are and building the wealth to support itāand this shouldn't be a lot if you get wise on spending and know who you are and don't feel insecure about it.

Hello Denis appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to read my article- well it was a Warren Buffett Documentary that actually helped see a different view- that investing was the path forward! However my investment returns were not that good that timešš as it took me 2-3 years to really practice and understand dailyā¦ so just trying to help shorten the learning curve for someone else.
It's amazing that you understood life to this extent at 16. I wish I'd been this smart :)
